This camera sensor utilizes a line sensor, which is more advantageous in having a larger pixel count in the horizontal direction than an area sensor. The high-end camera works as a digital camera for detecting the strip edge/center position and digitally processes images in identifying the correct position.
Features
The CCD camera detects the strip edge by sensing the frame difference of light and shadow.
Shadows are sensed as strip edges and signals are then transferred to the controller via a digital fieldbus. The total lens focal length is 28mm to 50mm.
